Broughton Pre-school is situated in a rural area in the grounds of Broughton Primary school. We provide high quality childcare and education within our purpose built ’Home Lodge’ style building where children have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of interesting activities which promote all areas of learning and development.
Our room is bright, airy and thoughtfully arranged into different areas of learning. We have free flow access to a dedicated outside area which includes a large decked area with canopy for all weather use, a challenging timber trail, sandpit, mud kitchen, a large playhouse and a hard surface area for ride on toys. The children also have a gardening area where they grow flowers, fruit and vegetables and enjoy digging for worms and bug hunting. We have access to the school’s large field, large covered sandpit and a fenced nature area with a pond. All areas, inside and out, have disabled access.
We offer flexible sessions from 8.45am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday, during term time. The availability of days and sessions is dependent on demand for places.
Start times offered are 8.45am, 9.30am, 12.00pm and 1.00pm. Finish times are 12.00pm, 1.00pm and 3.00pm and 3.30pm.
We provide care and education, for a maximum of 20 children at a time, from 2 years to school age. Our dedicated staff team are very experienced, well qualified and provide a high adult:child ratio.
We offer learning through play with our continuous provision and plan around the children’s interests, aiming to support and extend their learning.
We are able to support children with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities and children with English as an additional language.
Healthy lifestyles are actively promoted and hot lunches are available. Funding for 15 hours free is available for all children from the term following a child’s 3rd birthday and for eligible children from the term after they turn 2 years old. Eligible parents can claim up to 30 hours free for 3 & 4 year olds.
